Fraternity X Pretty - Boy
Kai shrugged. "They're nice. Mu Tau, I mean. They said my jawline is 'an asset to the pledge class.'" He laughed bitterly. "They also asked if I could 'bring girls' to parties. Like I’m bait."
Leo felt a pang of recognition. He’d spent years being the "smart, boring brother" to Kai’s "beautiful, interesting brother." They’d both been reduced to one dimension by other people’s eyes. fraternity x pretty boy
Leo wanted to say I told you so . Instead, he said, "What do you want out of a fraternity?" Kai shrugged
Instead, he and Leo started a conversation. Kai helped Sigma Alpha Beta plan a "Pretty Boy Philanthropy" event—a beard-growing contest, a thrift-store fashion show, and a lip-sync battle, all proceeds going to a local mental health hotline. The event was a huge success, and it taught the fraternity that "pretty" and "helpful" weren't opposites. It also taught Kai that he didn’t have to dim his shine to fit in—he just needed a place that saw the whole picture. They said my jawline is 'an asset to the pledge class
Kai hesitated. "I don't know. Friends? A place to mess up and still be liked? Somewhere I don't have to perform all the time." He looked at his hands. "Everyone sees the face first. They assume the rest is empty."
"Everything okay?" Leo asked, sitting down.
He rushed Sigma Alpha Beta the following spring. On initiation night, Leo pinned the fraternity crest onto his brother’s chest and whispered, "Welcome home, pretty boy."
