Leo paused it. His hands were shaking.

He skipped to the end. A single screen of text: "Season 9 was never meant to be funny. It was a stress test. The broadcast version was the 7th iteration. This is the 9th. If you're watching this, they know. Burn the disc. And don't trust the one who says 'How you doin'?'" Suddenly, Leo’s phone buzzed. A text from an unknown number: "So… have you watched it yet? 😉"

He pressed play.

The episode opened with a timestamp:

Curious, Leo loaded the disc into his old PlayStation 3.

That’s when Leo found it. A plain, unlabeled BD-R (Blu-ray recordable) disc. Handwritten on the inner ring, in tiny, frantic letters: "Friends S09 BD9" Leo paused it

And from the TV, still paused on that orange couch, a laugh track started playing. But there was no audience.
