With the rise of Disney+, which now houses content from Hulu, FX, and Star (internationally), fans are constantly asking one question:
If you live in the US, do not subscribe to Disney+ expecting to see Ted Mosby. You will be disappointed. Stick with Hulu, where the show lives alongside its spiritual cousin, Modern Family . Streaming rights change all the time. While Hulu holds the US rights for now, Disney has slowly been consolidating all of its adult content. It is not impossible that How I Met Your Mother could migrate to Disney+ in America someday—but for now, as Barney would say: "Wait for it..." (Dary).
For nearly a decade, How I Met Your Mother (HIMYM) was the king of the modern sitcom. The story of Ted, Barney, Robin, Marshall, and Lily navigating love, life, and the search for the perfect burger (and the perfect mother) remains a pop-culture juggernaut.
Launched in 2021, Star is a content hub within Disney+ available in international markets. It hosts shows rated TV-14 and TV-MA, including Lost, Family Guy, Prison Break, and crucially, How I Met Your Mother .
