The remote buzzed again. A chat box appeared on the Roku home screen.
The feed switched. Now she was looking at her own hallway from the living room camera she forgot she’d set up years ago. The front door was open.
“Check your front door. I’ve been inside for 12 minutes. But I’ll leave… if you unplug the Roku in the next 30 seconds.”
