Lois and Chrissy dig through Inverse Society financial records. They find a 1970s DOD file — Ally Allston’s mother led a failed paranormal experiment at the same mine. “She didn’t open a portal. She made a deal with something on the other side.” Lois realizes: Bizarro isn’t the enemy. He was trying to warn them about a bigger entity — the Inverse Doppelgänger (a shadow version of Ally from Bizarro World).

Clark realizes the only way to seal the portal is to overload the Bizarro crystal with his own heat vision — but Bizarro is still connected to it. In a heartbreaking moment, Bizarro whispers: “Home... none.” He grabs the crystal and flies it into the portal’s core, disintegrating in a silent flash of red sunlight. Portal closes.
