Mary overhears. She assumes the worst — drugs, or worse: Dale’s poker game . She drags George to the dealership to confront Dale, leaving Georgie panicked. At the dealership, Mary finds not a drug den but a tense poker table. And sitting there, holding a mediocre hand: Pastor Jeff from the church.
“Statistically, only one of you will leave with more than you came with. The rest are funding Dale’s eventual bankruptcy. Which, by my calculations, will occur in —” (checks watch) “— four months, twelve days, and seven hours.”
